As part of our pre-season preparations for the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship, the Terriers will make the short journey across the Pennines to face Stockport County at Edgeley Park!
Our first announcement for the upcoming pre-season, Town will face Stockport on Saturday 22 July at 3pm, with the fixture to be made up of two-hour long halves to allow both sides to increase their workloads and preparation ahead of the 2023/24 season kicking off.

A regular opponent for Town at B Team level, our last competitive fixture with County for the First Team was back in April 2010 in League One, with the Terriers putting six unanswered goals past Stockport away from home thanks to finishes from Anthony Pilkington, Theo Robinson, Jordan Rhodes, Danny Drinkwater, Lee Novak and Gary Roberts.
Coming off a strong season, the Hatters made it all the way to the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Final at Wembley, just missing out on promotion back to Sky Bet League One after a narrow loss on penalties to Carlisle United. Currently managed by Dave Challinor, the Greater Manchester based side had Aaron Rowe on loan from Town for the second half of the 2022/23 season.
