B Team defender Luke Daley has signed a new contract at Huddersfield Town, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2026!

The talented 20-year-old was on the Club’s Retained List at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season and has now agreed this extended stay with the Terriers at the expiry of his previous deal.

Luke, who joined Huddersfield Town from the Port Vale Academy in the summer of 2019, is a naturally left sided player who has featured predominantly at left back, but has also enjoyed some playing time as a centre half.

He had his first taste of senior football last season, spending two months on loan with Vanarama National League side Gateshead towards the end of 2022. He did well during his time in the north east, starting 10 games across league and the Emirates FA Cup for Mike Williamson’s side.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Jon Worthington commented:

“It’s good news that we’ve come to this agreement with Luke.

“Luke has had a challenging period, with frustrations with injury, but he is undoubtedly an exciting talent with lots of potential.

“Moving forward, the aim for him is to establish himself through a good loan at some point this season and to consistently play First Team football. That will put him in a strong position moving forward.”
