Back in 2020 we filmed a special, in-depth chat lasting nearly half an hour with Dean Gorré over on HTTV – and you can still watch it for free!
With no football in play at the time due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, we took the chance to reconnect with one of the most popular players of the modern era.
Few Town fans knew of Gorré when he moved to the Club from Ajax in 1999, but his stellar performances soon established him as a firm favourite as Steve Bruce’s side charged towards the Premier League.
History shows that the attempt at promotion eventually fell short, but in just two seasons the Dutchman established himself as a real cult figure in Town folklore.
We spoke to Dean about everything, from the impression the Club made on him upon his arrival in England, the ill-fated sale of Marcus Stewart and his career after leaving Town – including working for Reading during the 2017 Play-Off Final!
