Town Forward named PFA Community Champion 2022/23

- Comments from Ward and Foundation’s CEO Siobhan Atkinson

Town forward Danny Ward has been presented with the Professional Footballers’ Association Community Champion award for his contribution to the local community during the 2022/23 campaign.

Whilst Ward has been crucial to Town’s Sky Bet Championship survival on the pitch, off it he has been recognised for his work in the Kirklees area with the Huddersfield Town Foundation.

Back in January, the 32-year-old helped to inspire the students of Moldgreen Community Primary School with an engaging assembly which addressed the topics of resilience, confidence, and teamwork, offering personal examples to back up his comments.

Ward was then more than happy to stay behind and answer more questions from the students, who were more than eager to hear what he had to say.

This was made possible through the Foundation’s delivery of their Premier League Primary Stars programme, which uses the power of the Town brand to engage young people in education.
