- Comments from Manager Neil Warnock
We are delighted to confirm that Danny Ward has committed his future to the Club until at least 2025!
Signing a two-year extension that is effective from July 1 2023, the extension will keep fan favourite ‘Wardy’ with us until 30 June 2025, taking the now 32 year-old front man through the remainder of his prime years with Town.
In his second permanent spell with us, the forward rejoined the Terriers as a free agent in the summer of 2020 following the expiration of his contract with Cardiff City. Having represented the Club between 2011-2015 in his first stint in blue and white, the forward went on to play for Rotherham United and Cardiff City before rejoining Town.
One of the most popular members of the dressing room, Ward is one of the First Team’s leadership group, helping to set the standard and mentality across the Club.
A local lad, Danny was top scorer for Town en route to the 2022 Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final, whilst making a telling contribution for us at the other end of the table last season, scoring the goal against Sheffield United that would confirm our place in the division for the upcoming campaign.
Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock commented:
“I’m delighted that Danny has signed this extension to his contract.
“I’ve always enjoyed working with him, we have a great relationship together and I know he’ll continue to give everything next season as we try and climb higher up the table.
“I’m personally delighted having recently committed to the Club full-time again myself, as Danny is one of the pieces of the jigsaw that I really wanted to get in place and get over the line.”
