AARON MOOY RETIRES – HIS BEST TOWN MOMENTS!

30 June 2023

Relive some of the Australian’s best moments in blue and white.

- Aaron Mooy has announced his immediate retirement
- Announcement made by Socceroos and his club, Celtic
- Enjoy some of Aaron’s highlights for Huddersfield Town

As you may have seen earlier today, Aaron Mooy has made the decision to officially retire from professional football with immediate effect at the age of 32.

Aaron’s current club, Celtic, and the Socceroos – the Australian national team – made the announcement early in the morning that the talented midfielder has called time on an exceptional playing career full of highlights.

Many of those high points came in the blue and white stripes of Huddersfield Town, of course. Aaron originally joined the Terriers on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2016 and helped the Club achieve promotion to the Premier League, being named Town’s Player of the Year in his first campaign.

He also became one of the first Town players in a long time to represent his nation in a World Cup whilst contracted to the club in 2018.

When he departed for Brighton & Hove Albion permanently in 2020, he had over 100 appearances for Town under his belt, 65 of those in the Premier League, and had scored 11 goals.

A central midfielder who had a special talent for keeping hold of possession and crafting chances for his teammates, he’s a regular in the conversation concerning who Town’s best player of the last few decades might be.
