LOAN: TYREECE SIMPSON JOINS NORTHAMPTON TOWN

26 July 2023

Huddersfield Town striker joins Sky Bet League One side on loan

- Tyreece Simpson joins Northampton Town on loan
- Town striker to spend 2023/24 season with Cobblers
- Comments from Manager Neil Warnock

We can confirm that Tyreece Simpson has today joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Arriving at Town in the summer of 2022 from then Sky Bet League One side Ipswich Town, this will be the second loan of Simpson’s career following a successful period with Swindon Town in the 2021/22 campaign.

Playing with both the First Team and B Team at Town after returning from injury last season, the 21-year-old made 10 competitive appearances for the Club in total across all competitions with nine of those coming from the bench in the Sky Bet Championship, with his sole start in the Emirates FA Cup.

Simpson will now spend the 2023/24 season on loan with Northampton Town in Sky Bet League One, with the Cobblers back in the third tier for the first time since the 2020/21 campaign.

Town Manager Neil Warnock commented:

“We’ve had a really good look at Tyreece since we arrived at the Club, both last season and in Cornwall, and we just feel that he needs to be playing regular first team football, which isn’t something he’s likely to get here.

“He’s still only 21, so there’s plenty for him still to learn in the game. Playing a full season with a good club like Northampton in League One will serve him well and give him a grounding he’ll benefit from going forward.”

Good luck with the Cobblers, Tyreece!
