17 July 2023

French midfielder signs for Serie A side Udinese for undisclosed fee

- Etienne Camara completes move to Italian side Udinese
- Midfielder joined Huddersfield Town aged 17
- Comments from Manager Neil Warnock

We can confirm that Etienne Camara has today joined Italian side Udinese for an undisclosed fee.

Having signed for Town from Angers SCO in October 2020 aged just 17, the midfielder progressed through the U17, U19 and B Team groups within the Huddersfield Town Academy before breaking into the First Team on a more regular basis during the 2022/23 campaign.

Able to play both central midfield and central defence, Camara also represented France at the U20 World Cup this summer on the back of 22 appearances in all competitions for Town last season.

With just a year remaining on his most current Town contract Camara has joined Serie A side Udinese after making 24 appearances in three seasons for the Club, with the terms of the deal undisclosed.

Manager Neil Warnock commented:

“We all know that Etienne has fantastic potential and ability, so if he continues to work on himself and his craft there are real opportunities for him in this game.

“With just a year remaining on his contract, it was clear that he was keen to seek a new challenge and it will be just that for him in the Italian top flight.

“He has been a fantastic boy to work with and has done ever so well at the Club to work his way through the Academy to our First Team, and I know everyone at Town wishes him the very best for the future, including myself.”

Everyone at Huddersfield Town wishes Etienne all the best for the future!
