LOAN: AARON ROWE JOINS STOCKPORT COUNTY

Huddersfield Town winger Aaron Rowe leaves on loan for remainder of season

- Winger to remain on loan for remainder of 2022/23 season
- Comments from Leigh Bromby and Mark Fotheringham

We can confirm that Aaron Rowe has joined Stockport County on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

Having joined the Club as a teenager and progressed through the Academy, he made his First Team debut from the bench in the Premier League against AFC Bournemouth.

Comfortable from either flank, he scored his first Town goal at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest in the 2020/21 season, playing consistently and making 20 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship.

Making just one appearance each in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons however, the now 22-year-old’s playing time at First Team level has been extremely limited and the majority of his minutes have come with the B Team.

Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby commented:

“Aaron hasn’t featured consistently for our First Team for a number of years now after making a promising start, and regular competitive football is imperative for him to progress at this stage in his career. Moving to Stockport County will hopefully give him that chance.

“As he’s shown in the past, Aaron has everything required to play at this level, but he’s yet to put that together on a consistent basis, which is why going on loan and recapturing his form is what is best for all concerned at present.”

Head Coach Mark Fotheringham added:

“Aaron has the potential to be a brilliant player, and can show that in flashes. However, there is a lack of consistency that is holding him back from progressing into our First Team group and he needs to add that to his game before we can fully rely on him.

“I gave every player at the Club a chance to impress when I arrived, including Aaron, and he made one appearance at Rotherham United away as a result. With the other players we have in his position in good form and additional options having recently joined, it’s unlikely he would’ve featured again for the First Team this season.”

Good luck, Aaron!
