It was a first defeat in three for Town despite the Terriers playing well for the majority of the game and taking the lead midway through the first half at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Starting where they had left on following on from back-to-back victories for the first time this season, the Terriers were the better side to start and looked dangerous going forward, playing good football in difficult conditions with the rain and wind swirling.

The pressure told when Kaine Kesler-Hayden’s hard work saw Jack Rudoni take the ball in on the edge of the Luton box, playing a nice reversed pass through to Duane Holmes who cleverly got the ball out of his feet and into the corner past Horvath in the Luton goal.

Despite chances to extend the lead, Town were pegged back on the stroke of half-time by full-back Bell, with Helik unable to keep it from going over the line despite a brilliant sliding effort.

There was little between the sides in a very even second half, but the once telling chance did fall to the visitors who saw Reece Burke take his chance in the area and earn all three points for his side.

Town did mount an attempt to claw a point back but time was against us, and we ultimately fell short on the afternoon.
