Despite taking a second half lead through Florian Kamberi on debut, Town exited the Emirates FA Cup at the Third Round stage following a 3-1 loss to Preston North End at Deepdale.
After a cagey first half that passed without note, Town sparked into life just 10 minutes after the break. With the Preston defence getting muddled, Michał Helik clipped a ball back into the box following a corner that Will Boyle headed back into danger, with Florian Kamberi – who had just been introduced at the break – latching onto it and finishing well first time.
The home side levelled shortly after through fortunate circumstances as Tom Lees saw the ball flash off his thigh into his own goal, but the Terriers still held the initiative, with Kasumu driving into the box and laying Kamberi off only for his effort to be cleared off the line.
A match winning intervention from Preston, the home side then went on to score twice more through Diaby and Browne, taking the tie away from Town and seeing us exit the competition at the Third Round stage.
