Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham said the manner of Hull City’s late equaliser was ‘gutting’ as they scored with virtually the last kick of the game.
Speaking to HTTV at full-time, Fotheringham said:
“It was gutting, especially the manner in which we conceded the goal with the last kick of the ball.
“I felt the referee could’ve blown for full-time a tad earlier, we have guys on the bench who monitor that and we felt they let it go on a little bit too long.
“There’s no point in being too down about it, we understand Hull are a team that is in form at the moment so to come away from home to here today and put on that performance with our youth team ‘keeper in the goal was incredible.
“There was a period in the game that I thought we were going to put the game out of sight, and you could see that the whole stadium here was quiet, and that’s a credit to the lads doing that.
“We are deflated, obviously, and disappointed like I said, but we can’t get too down about it because we’ve got a lot of important games coming and as I said we know our targets and we know what’s going to keep us in the league.
“We’ll be focussed, determined and keep working hard as a group.”
