Born in Lambeth, London on the 15 January 2000, the 23-year-old started his career with local side Hillyfielders FC before being spotted by Crystal Palace in 2009.

Joining the South London side at Under 9 level, he would remain with the Eagles for a decade, signing a two-year scholarship in 2016 and going on to captain the Under 18 side. Awarded his first professional deal in 2018, he spent time with Margate on loan in January 2019 where he made nine appearances.

After leaving Crystal Palace in the summer of 2019, he signed for then Premier League side Watford, impressing for their Under 23 side almost immediately. A member of their first squad in the Premier League without making a top flight appearance, his Hornets debut came in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round in a replay against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

Moving to National League side Aldershot Town on a short-term loan deal in November 2020, he made six appearances before returning to Hertfordshire in January 2021. Moving away from his parent club for a full season across the 2021/22 campaign, Hungbo signed for Ross County in August 2021 on a season-long loan in the Scottish Premiership.

Scoring seven times across 33 appearances north of the border, Hungbo was a standout for Ross, being named both their Young Player of the Year and Players’ Young Player of the Year at the end of the season. Having caught the eye early on with a brilliant free-kick in their first win of the season, he was also awarded the club and league Goal of the Season trophies.

Back with parent club Watford for the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign, he has made nine appearances this season, with seven coming in the league and one each in the Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup before joining the Terriers on loan.
