Huddersfield Town Manager was in fine form in his first press conference since returning to the Club, speaking to a packed room about his motivations behind returning to Town.

In a characteristically open, honest and positive first press conference since returning as Manager of Huddersfield Town, Warnock opened up at length about the task at hand, coming back to Town, his memories from the past and what he’s looking to achieve between now and the end of the season.

"If I was going to come back, it was always going to be to a Club I love. I'm really excited for the challenge - it's a really special time.

"Sharon likes it here as well and she was saying to me that I should come and do this!

"The fans have always been fantastic with me. I was really taken aback by the reception I got from them when I came back as a guest for the Stoke City game earlier this season.

"I want supporters to come to the game like I did excited and go home talking about the game!

"We're struggling injury wise, but we've got to compete with Birmingham City and give them problems. We've got to be ready and do our best.”

"I didn't need much convincing to come back!” he continued. “Before this Sharon has said never in a million years, but she was excited about this as well.

"I'm going to enjoy this and I want to leave them in a better place. I might be 74 but I'm excited like a little kid!

"I'll be doing what I can to try and help the Club stabilise, there's people still here from the first time too.

"When I turn up there might be the same lads asking for my autograph as before - they might have a walking stick now though!

"It brings back really good memories, the promotion was unbelievable - the bus ride with the horns blasting!

"I haven't seen Boothy yet, but he's a smashing lad too. I've enjoyed the chat with the players today, they've been really responsive.

"It will be emotional on Saturday for me, it was the last time I came here. I always found that people in Huddersfield just wanted to see their players giving everything, that's not a lot to ask.

"The fans are going to have to play their part, be vocal and help me.

"I think all my career if you were to ask the other coaches in my league which team they don't want to play against, I think I'd be right up there.

"I want them lads to enjoy, I've told them they're lucky I've come out of retirement! So let's enjoy it together.

"The goals aren't coming and we're conceding too many, it's not a great recipe so we've got to sort that out.

"We've got to try and eliminate these errors and that's what we'll be working on.

"First and foremost we've got to put bums back on seats and smiles back on faces, that's my job - that's what I want the lads to do.

"I've to come up with situations where can cause other teams problems, I don't think there's been enough forward play.

"I've had a couple of offers, but I haven't really been interested. We've always loved it at Holmfirth, I remember one Christmas the know being up to the gas lamps.

"It's a good Club and a good area, and I want to make these fans happy again."
