Huddersfield Town Women are back on the road as they travel to the League leaders Nottingham Forest on Sunday 26 February, for a 2pm kick-off.

The Reds have won eleven of their fourteen matches so far this season. Including a 12-1 victory at Fylde, making them the favourites to win the division and promotion.

Last time out

Huddersfield Town Women hosted Nottingham Forest at the end of January 2023. The teams met at the Stafflex Arena where once again Forest were looking to top the table and chase promotion. The match got off to a cagey start, and Town Women gave away a penalty in the first five minutes. However, they had chances soon after to level the score. The best falling to Beth Stanfield, who fired over the crossbar.

Forest caused Town Women issues all match from set pieces. A short corner routine on the 20-minute mark was whipped in but dealt with well by Autumn Housley. Unfortunately, just six minutes later, a mix up in the Town Women's defence led to an own goal, doubling the visitors lead.

The second half started with the Women Terriers actually on the front foot, with Serena Fletcher driving forward, her cross unfortunately, just evaded Britt Sanderson which would have brought the Town Women back into the game. Two minutes later the visitors had secured all three points with another goal.

The match will be a tough one, but Town Women will want to open up the top of the League, and securing all three points will propel the Women Terriers right back into the thick of it. Forest go into the match confident that they can repeat the result on their home turf.

Town Women are under no illusions just how tricky this match will be. Especially coming off the back of a loss in FA National League Cup, and a loss and a draw in the league. However, everything is still to play for, and Town could deal a slight blow to Forest’s chances of topping the league.
