Huddersfield Town Interim Head Coach Narcís Pѐlach and defender Tom Lees spoke to the media in our press conference ahead of our upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against Stoke City.
When asked about the recent appointment of Neil Warnock as manager, Pѐlach said:
“I’m very excited to work with legends of the Club like Neil and Ronnie – I’m happy, because I think it’s something we need right now. Their experience is very big, and the rest of us will try to help them the best we can.
“I’m looking forward to helping from my role and achieving our target for the season.”
Having worked under Warnock previously, Tom Lees then commented:
“I’m looking forward to getting going with Neil as he comes in with a big reputation, has a huge CV and is a really well-known name in the game.
“You’re not going to get anybody that’s more experienced or knows what it’s all about - it’s not an experiment, you know what you’re going to get.
“It’s never dull with Neil! You’ve got to remember that I was 21 the last time, but he’ll keep everyone on their toes and is exactly how you’d imagine.”
Lees reflected on the previous game against Wigan Athletic.
“We were obviously very disappointed with our performance at Wigan , and it was very emotional afterwards – we were frustrated and angry.
“When we reviewed the game though, the last half an hour aside, we didn’t do too badly.
“All of us care. It’s not through lack of effort but we haven’t been good enough, which is plain to see. We need to get better – the fans have every right to be frustrated.”
Looking ahead to our game against Stoke City, the defender said:
“Like every game it’ll be tough, Stoke have a a lot of good individual plyers.
“We’ve got to get better, every point matters. It’s a massively important game and that has our full focus”
“We know the new manager will be watching so that’s incentive too.”

Narcís went on and updated the press on team news ahead of our next game against Stoke City.
“Ollie Turton has a big injury in the knee – his ACL – he’s going to be out for six months or more. We all feel for him as he is a great man who is very important for the dressing room – we will try to win for him as well, on Wednesday.
“To lose any player is sad, but I believe in the squad and we have other players who can step in that can also play well.”
Pѐlach then looked ahead to our next Sky Bet Championship fixture against Stoke City on Wednesday 15 February.
“We can get the right result against Stoke if we arrive with the right mindset – it’s going to be a tough game.
“Stoke have a very good squad but we don’t talk about them too much now. We respect them a lot, but we focus on ourselves and the things that we can control.
“We want to arrive at the game tomorrow in the perfect condition and the new Manager watching is motivation.”
