Huddersfield Town Interim Head Coach Narcís Pèlach spoke about helping the Club, our new Assistant Coach Álvaro Reina and our upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against Wigan Athletic.

Asked about his time at the Club as well as his current Interim position, Narcís said:

“After what happened in May last year, I could not leave this Club – my heart told me to stay even when I had the option to leave.

“I want to help the Club to improve the situation.

“My responsibility now is simple, I will take Saturday’s game against Wigan and my focus is on this game, not anything past it.

“The magic happens here when everyone is together, that includes the players, the staff and the fans.”

Our Interim Head Coach touched on the appointment of Assistant Coach Álvaro Reina as well as the rest of the staff members stepping up.

“Álvaro is amazing! I have known him a long time – he can help the whole Club.

“At the same time, Paul Clements has stepped up into an Interim Assistant Coach position and we have the rest of the amazing people here – I am just one of the ‘Huddersfield men’”

Finally, Pèlach looked ahead to our next Sky Bet Championship fixture against Wigan Athletic on Saturday 11 February.

“We want to give a very good performance because it’s a massive game. We know we can defend better, attack better, and play with another level of emotion.

“We want to show our fans more, there are many things we can do better. I know these players, and I expect them to show the answers tomorrow.

“I expect to see a change in all of phases of the game. We want to play with courage. Playing the game is an opportunity, not a problem!”
