February meeting postponed
- Huddersfield Town statement on next ATT meeting
- Club has postponed meeting scheduled for 27 February
- Meeting will be rearranged as soon as is feasible
Huddersfield Town has postponed the next meeting of the ‘All Together Town’ fan engagement panel, which was scheduled for Monday 27 February 2023.
The questions submitted to the Club in advance of the meeting by the Huddersfield Town Supporters Association (HTSA) understandably focused on the current state of play regarding the Club’s ownership, potential sale, and also the ownership model of the John Smith’s Stadium.
Negotiations over the future ownership of both the Club and the stadium are currently at a very sensitive stage and are conditional to non-disclosure agreements, and it is the strong view of the Club’s shareholders and the Managing Director that any public discussion could have a major adverse effect on the outcomes.
That need to respect confidentiality at this stage curtails the ability of Club officials to disclose the answers to the questions posed at the ATT panel.
We understand this will be very frustrating for supporters who want an update on the Club’s future ownership, but we would like to stress that this is only a timing issue. We are absolutely committed to updating supporters on these important matters, but this cannot happen to the detriment of the process.
Securing the most positive outcome to these discussions and negotiations is the most important thing, above all else.
As soon as it is viable, Club officials will be fully transparent about the entire process from start to finish, via both the ATT panel and to the wider fanbase. In line with this, we hope to confirm a new date for the next ATT meeting in the coming weeks.
Every decision, including this one, is being made with the best interests of the football club at the forefront.
