With our 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship campaign kicking off at home on Saturday afternoon as Leicester City visit the John Smith’s Stadium, Manager Neil Warnock has been speaking to the press ahead of the fixture.

With plenty to discuss after two games against Plymouth Argyle and Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup, the Manager spoke about transfers, squad availability and our next opponents, Leicester City.

On great form as always, Warnock said:

"We are trying with transfers, everybody knows we want some new faces but we're being patient to actually get the players we want.

"We're looking everywhere, Premier League, Championship and abroad, so I'm optimistic.

“Kevin has stressed that there is money there, but FFP makes it difficult for new owners to come in and splash the cash from day one so that's what makes it difficult.

"There will be some movement in the next two weeks, I'm confident of that.

"Fans are bound to think what they do when you've only signed a reserve goalkeeper and full back on loan, but we're working to make a difference in the background.

"I can't fault the lads, they've been battling and I think they've enjoyed that, you saw that vs Boro.

"I've talked to Jaheim, and told him the type of person that's done that might not even be a Huddersfield fan and just a sad person sat alone behind a keyboard.

"Jaheim is fine, and I gave him a rollicking myself too so it wasn't all nice!

"It's a great place to play the John Smith's Stadium, so I'm looking forward to playing them on Saturday - I didn't think they'll be in this league with us if I'm honest.

"I'd imagine Leicester are odds on favourites to go straight back up, that's what we're facing.

"It's only 11 against 11, we've got some good players and I learned a lot about the squad against Middlesbrough too, both good and bad.

"We're a bit thin on the ground, Lees is running but around four weeks away I'm told and Pearson is still sore. Hoggy is okay.

"Frank Worthington was the same on and off the field, he wasn't arrogant, he was just confident. A crowd pleaser, he could caress the ball as good as anyone - he opened doors.

"Huddersfield and Leicester were so lucky to have him, they don't come around often.

"I'm looking forward to competing against them and seeing if we can cause them problems as well, it'll be a great atmosphere too I'll suspect.

"I've said to the lads that we're going to be underdogs in a lot of games but let's go and have a go!

"If we make the mistakes like we did against Plymouth we won't be beating anybody - so we've got to stamp that out straight away.

"We've got to take our chances as well, because that's just as important."
