We’re delighted to confirm the signing of Ben Wiles from fellow Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United!
We have paid a significant undisclosed fee for the central midfielder, who has agreed a contract that runs until the summer of 2026. The club also has an option on a further year’s extension.
Although only 24 years old, Ben is on the cusp of a century of appearances in the Sky Bet Championship, adding to a further 79 League One appearances during two promotion campaigns with the Millers.
Wiles will wear the number 23 shirt for the Terriers!
Town Manager Neil Warnock explained:
“We wanted to bring in another midfield player during this window, but I look at the likes of Jack Rudoni and David Kasumu, and I didn’t feel the need to sign someone who didn’t improve on what we have backing them up.
“That’s why we’ve been very patient to get Ben, and I’m delighted to get him on board.
"I’ve watched Ben for the last couple of seasons and I think he’s been outstanding. I also think there’s a lot more to come from him as he’s at a good age; he can take everything on board and progress. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Huddersfield Town’s Sporting Director Mark Cartwright commented:
