- Neil Warnock hands competitive debut to Tom Edwards
- Seven players start who began on last day of season vs Reading
Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock has handed loanee Tom Edwards his competitive club debut in today’s season-opening game at Plymouth Argyle; 3pm kick-off at Home Park.
Seven of Warnock’s starting side actually began the final game of last season against Reading, with Edwards, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Sorba Thomas and Danny Ward the exceptions.
As per amended league rules, Town have named nine substitutes this afternoon. One welcome addition back to the match day squad is club captain Jonathan Hogg, who has missed most of pre-season due to an ankle injury sustained in training.
New signing Chris Maxwell is also among the substitutes today, whilst fit-again Yuta Nakayama is also in the squad under Warnock for the first time following his long-term Achilles injury.
Another of our subs, Kyle Hudlin, could make his Huddersfield Town and Sky Bet Championship debut if called upon.
Warnock is without David Kasumu (ankle), Ollie Turton (knee), Scott High (hip), and Tom Lees (calf).
