The Terriers welcome Norwich City to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 26 August 2023 for a 3pm kick-off in the Sky Bet Championship.

Town got their first point on the board away at Middlesbrough last weekend and will be looking to build on that this weekend when we welcome Norwich City to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 26 August.

THE OPPOSITION

The Canaries come into this game after their 3-1 home win over Millwall on Sunday 20 August, where they were 3-0 up after 56 minutes, which means they currently sit third after three games having drawn one and won two.

Norwich City finished 13th in the Sky Bet Championship last season after they were relegated from the Premier League the season before – Josh Sargent was Norwich’s top goal scorer last year with 13 goals.

David Wagner was appointed Head Coach of our visitors in January 2023 and defeated Preston North End in his first game in charge. We held his side to a draw in March 2023 as we fought to secure safety in the Sky Bet Championship this season.

ONES TO WATCH

Jack Stacey

Stacey signed for Norwich City in May 2023 at the end of the 2022/23 season from Premier league side AFC Bournemouth – he made 10 appearances for the Cherries in the 2022/23 season as they avoided relegation. The 27-year-old has been involved in three promotions during his career, two with Luton helping them get from Sky Bet League Two to the Sky Bet Championship and then he made 98 appearances with Bournemouth after moving there in 2019 and helped them reach the Premier League at the end of the 2021/22 season. He has appeared in all three league games this season for Norwich.

Jonathan Rowe

A product of the Norwich City Academy, Rowe signed his first professional contract with the club in October 2021 – he made his debut in the Premier League against Crystal Palace and then regularly featured on the wing for the rest of that campaign and made 14 appearances. Despite suffering with multiple injuries last season and only making a handful of appearances in the last games, the 20-year-old has scored in all three league games this season and also against QPR in the Carabao Cup.

Josh Sargent

The US international joined Norwich City ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season from German side Werder Bremen. During his full debut for Norwich City, Sargent scored twice and assisted another goal in the Canaries’ 6-0 win over AFC Bournemouth in the second round of the Carabao Cup. Sargent was the top goal scorer for Norwich City last season, scoring 13 goals – so far this season, he has already scored two goals and assisted a further goal.
