Huddersfield Town striker Kian Harratt commits future to Club

- Kian Harratt signs new Huddersfield Town contract
- Extension agreed until 2026
- Comments from Neil Warnock and Mark Cartwright

We are delighted to confirm that forward Kian Harratt has today signed a contract extension with the Club, committing his future to Huddersfield Town until 2026!

From just over the border in South Yorkshire, he joined our Academy at Under 17 level ahead of the 2018/18 campaign and hit the ground running, scoring 32 goals in 47 appearances as he quickly graduated to the Under 19 group.

Making his senior debut in December 2019 in the West Yorkshire derby against Leeds United, he completed the campaign on loan with then Vanarama National League side Harrogate Town and was part of the side that saw the North Yorkshire side promoted to the EFL.

Named the Antoni’s Memorial Academy Player of the Year at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Harratt’s next loan was to Port Vale in the second half of the 2021/22 season where he memorably assisted a crucial equaliser in their Play-Off Semi-Final second leg before scoring an exquisite diving header at Wembley in the final, inspiring a 3-0 win.

Returning from a loan spell with Bradford City in January 2023, the forward immediately caught the eye of Neil Warnock and Ronnie Jepson on arrival, with his breakthrough moment coming at Vicarage Road against Watford as he converted a trademark flicked header from the near post in a crucial win. Continuing that promising form this season, Harratt opened the scoring against Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup at the John Smith’s Stadium earlier this month.

Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock commented:

“I’m absolutely delighted for Kian.

“Since I’ve been back at the Club, he’s shown an attitude to his work that I’ve not seen in a player in my managerial career to date.

“He’s been like a breath of fresh air, and he deserves everything that he gets.

“This is only the first wrung of the ladder to climb, but I’m sure he’ll have a successful career.”

Huddersfield Town Sporting Director Mark Cartwright added:

“We’re really pleased to have Kian extend his contract with the Club, he’s worked incredibly hard to earn this and it’s a deserved reward.

“Similarly to Kyle Hudlin, his next challenge is to break into the First Team on a more consistent basis as he’s shown the hunger and ability in front of goal to score at this level in the past few months.

“It is always great to see someone who’s been in your Academy continue to progress at your Club, and if he continues to work as hard as he is currently, anything is possible.”

Congratulations on the contract extension, Kian!
