Northern Ireland international right-back commits future until 2025.

- Brodie Spencer signs new Huddersfield Town contract
- Right-back will now join Motherwell in Scottish Premiership
- Comments from Neil Warnock and Mark Cartwright

We are delighted to announce that Brodie Spencer has committed his future to the Club until 2025, with the young right-back’s development to continue in the Scottish Premiership with Motherwell!

A full international for Northern Ireland, the right-back has made six appearances for the Terriers, with his full First Team debut coming in the Carabao Cup in August 2022 against Preston North End at home.

Named our Antoni’s Memorial Academy Player of the Year following the 2021/22 season, Spencer has been capped by his country, playing in the UEFA Nations League aged just 18, underlining his rapid development and great potential.

To maximise his minutes within a First Team environment, Spencer will now join Motherwell on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, linking up with the Scottish Premiership side immediately.

Commenting on the news, Manager Neil Warnock said:

“I’m pleased for Brodie, as he’s worked really hard for us in pre-season.

“Getting a new contract is a fantastic achievement, but he does need to play consistently, so Motherwell is the perfect place for him.”

Sporting Director Mark Cartwright added:

“Brodie has bags of potential and he’s a player we really like, so we’re delighted to have him extend his stay at the Club and sign this new deal.

“In his position, improvement is only going to come through playing competitive, meaningful minutes, and we believe that’s exactly what he’s going to get at a good standard with Motherwell.

“He has a great mentality and real maturity; he wouldn’t have played for our First Team or made his international debut otherwise. We’re excited to see how this season goes for Brodie up in Scotland and wish him the best of luck.”

Congratulations on the new contract and good luck on loan!
