TEAM NEWS: CARDIFF CITY vs TOWN

30 April 2023

Neil Warnock makes two changes to his Huddersfield Town side

- Huddersfield Town side named to face Cardiff City
- Manager Neil Warnock makes two changes to the team
- Lee Nicholls starts alongside captain Jonathan Hogg

Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock has made two changes to the starting line-up for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Cardiff City; noon kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Warnock’s first change comes in goal, where reigning Player of the Year Lee Nicholls returns! The goalkeeper hasn’t played for the First Team since suffering a shoulder injury in our New Year’s Day game against Luton Town that required surgery, but is brought back having played 90 minutes for the B Team at Stockport County in midweek.

As a result, Tomáš Vaclík is a substitute this afternoon.

Our other change comes in central midfield, where club captain Jonathan Hogg returns having missed our draw at Sunderland with a hip complaint. It’s a landmark appearance for the club stalwart, as it’s his 300th league start for Huddersfield Town!

Hoggy replaces David Kasumu, who is a substitute today.

As a result of these two incomings, Nicholas Bilokapic and Matthew Lowton drop out of the match day squad.

Former Cardiff City man Danny Ward, who scored 13 goals in 69 games for the Bluebirds between 2017 and 2020, is making the 300th of his club career today.

Warnock is still without Ollie Turton (knee), Tino Anjorin (ankle), Kieran Phillips (hamstring), Duane Holmes (ankle), and Yuta Nakayama (Achilles).
