Completing a busy Easter weekend, the Terriers will continue their Sky Bet Championship campaign on Monday 10 April at the John Smiths Stadium, welcoming Blackburn Rovers; 12.30pm kick-off.

While the visitors come into the fixture on the back of a two-nil home defeat to Norwich City on Good Friday, it was a much better result for Town, who saw off Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road.

This is Blackburn’s fifth consecutive season in the Sky Bet Championship after the five time FA Cup winners were relegated into Sky Bet League One following the 2017 season. Not a long stay in the third tier, Rovers found themselves promoted back to the Sky Bet Championship at the end of the following season.

Pushing for promotion, the Lancashire side currently sit sixth in the Championship table within the Play Off places, currently an improvement on their 8th place finish at the end of last season.

Formerly a Danish international, Jon Dahl Tomasson has been at the helm since July 2022 following the departure of Tony Mowbray. Following previous managerial careers at Roda JC Kerkrade and Malmö FF, he joined Blackburn Rovers on a three-year deal.

Brereton-Díaz is currently Rovers’ top goal scorer so far this, netting an impressive 14 goals and four assists in the 42 appearances he has made. The forward was named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Year last season after scoring 22 goals. Since joining from Nottingham Forest, he has made over 136 appearances and scored over 43 goals for the club. In 2021, Brereton-Díaz was called up to the Chilean national team.

Tyler Morton

20-year-old Tyler Morton has had an impressive run in the midfield so far this season, making over 40 appearances in all competitions for the club. Morton joined Rovers from Liverpool on a season long loan in July and has become a vital cog in Rovers’ side. The midfielder was called up for England’s U20 in 2021 and made three appearances for the national team. Morton made his Premier League debut in a 4-0 victory against Arsenal in November 2021.

Scott Wharton

The central defender has scored three goals so far this season. Local to Blackburn, he has progressed through the ranks since joining the club at an early age and made his senior debut for his boyhood club in a 2-2 draw against Burton Albion at Ewood Park back in August 2016. He followed that up by scoring his first senior goal in the EFL Cup win over Crewe Alexandra three days later. After a loan spells with Cambridge United, Bury, Northampton Town and two at Lincoln City, he returned to his parent club, earning a spot in the first team.
