Having fallen behind in unfortunate circumstances toward the end of the first half, Town came out after the break inspired, scoring four times for the first time this season.

Despite having a strike cleared off the line within the opening few minutes, it was Boro who took the lead before half time on the break, powering forward at speed to undo Town’s otherwise resolute defence.

Undeterred, the Terriers were on terms within 20 seconds of the second half kicking off with Josh Ruffels created his own goal, hammering a left footed effort home to get Town off to a perfect start.

Sparking a crazy period of the game, Town then scored three times in quick succession through Josh Koroma – who curled one in from distance following a break at pace – before Matty Pearson earned himself a brace, being in the right place at the right time twice in the box.

The away side did get one back through Chuba Akpom’s head, but that wasn’t enough and Town saw the game out comfortably, earning three hugely valuable points.
