TEAM NEWS: TOWN vs BLACKPOOL

4 September 2022

Head Coach Danny Schofield makes two changes to the starting XI

- Huddersfield Town side named to face Blackpool
- Head Coach Danny Schofield makes two changes to the side
- New signing Michał Helik is among the substitutes today

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Danny Schofield has made two changes to the starting line-up for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Blackpool; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Having been used as substitutes in the midweek game at Bristol City, Danny Ward and Kaine Kesler-Hayden return to the starting XI today. They replace Jordan Rhodes and Josh Ruffels, who are on the bench.

The personnel are otherwise unchanged from our previous game, which means several players reach career landmarks today. Club Captain Jonathan Hogg makes his 300th Huddersfield Town start in all competitions, whilst Sorba Thomas makes his 50th Sky Bet Championship start for the Club.

Ollie Turton faces his old club today – he made 165 appearances for Blackpool before switching to HD1 in the summer of 2021.

Deadline day signing Michał Helik is straight into the 18 today, taking Rarmani Edmonds-Green’s place among the substitutes. There’s one more change on the bench, with goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic replacing the loaned-out Jacob Chapman.

Fellow new recruit Luke Mbete is unavailable as he completes the final days of his concussion protocol from his last appearance for parent club Manchester City, whilst Schofield is also without Matty Pearson (foot), Will Boyle (hip), and Tyreece Simpson (knee). David Kasumu is back in training following his hamstring injury, but needs more training time before being available for selection.
