PREVIEW: TOWN WOMEN vs WEST BROMWICH ALBION

15 September 2022

HTAFC Women face West Bromwich Albion in next league fixture

- Town Women host West Midlands rivals
- Return to FA Women's National League action
- Fans can watch at the Stafflex Arena on Sunday 18 September

Huddersfield Town Women return to home league action versus West Bromwich Albion FC Women on Sunday 18 September.

Town Women will be looking to build on our 3-3 draw, when Laura Elford’s stoppage time equaliser led to Burnley FC dropping points for the first time this season.

Coach Nick Hegarty is up for the challenge:

“The focus in training this week has been nothing like I’ve seen since I joined the club.

“The girls recognise the opportunity to deliver the best performance of the season so far and make our start a positive one.

“West Brom is another challenge for us, which we cannot underestimate - we need to be at our best to come out of Sunday with three points."

After a 6-0 loss in their first league game this season, Albion Women have found some form with wins from their second and third games and most recently a goalless draw against FC Fylde have left the Midlands team on seven points and fifth in the league.

Last season, Town Women came out on top in both encounters with West Brom Women, scoring three goals in both the home and away league meetings. Scorer of the goals was again Laura Elford, who netted within seconds of kick-off in the away fixture. West Brom managed only one goal in response and will be keen to reverse their fortunes this season.

Huddersfield Town Women face West Bromwich Albion FC Women at the Stafflex Arena, Storthes Hall Park (HD8 0WA), Sunday 18 September, 2pm kick-off.
