Huddersfield Town are back on the road in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday 10 September as we travel to face QPR at Loftus Road.
The Terriers go into the game looking to secure their first away win of the 2022/23 season.
QPR will be aiming to bounce back from their 1-0 loss at Swansea and continue their impressive home run form, with the Hoops only losing one game at home so far this season.
This is QPR’s eighth consecutive season in the Sky Bet Championship following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, and they will be looking to push up from their 11th place finish last season.
In June 2022, Michael Beale was appointed Head Coach of QPR after serving as Steven Gerrard’s assistant manager at Rangers and then following him to Premier League side Aston Villa.
In their opening nine games of the 2022/23 league season, the Hoops have recorded three wins, two draws, and three losses: currently sitting in 9th place on the Championship table.
ONES TO WATCH
A new signing this summer, Laird joined QPR on loan from Manchester United looking to further develop his talents. Since joining United at the age of nine and then signing professionally when he was 18, the defender has been sent out on three previous loan spells including, MK Dons, Swansea City and even went on a spell with AFC Bournemouth last season to help them gain promotion to the Premier League. The 21-year-old, who can play as a right back-back or a right wing-back, has made five appearances for the Hoops so far, scored one goal, and assisted another goal.
The former Huddersfield Town loanee signed for QPR in the summer of 2020 from the Portuguese side Benfica, where he made 48 appearances and scored 14 times for their B side. The 24-year-old joined Huddersfield on loan for the end of the 2019/20 season, where he made 14 appearances for the Terriers and scored two goals, helping Town avoid relegation that season. During his two years with QPR, Willock has made 80 appearances, scored 14 goals, and assisted 16. This season has seen him score four goals in five appearances.
Number 10 for the Hoops, Ilias Chair has regularly impressed since he arrived in West London in the summer of 2017. Although he first found appearances hard to come by, a loan spell to Stevenage brought the youngster out of his shell as he scored six goals in 16 appearances and saw him push his way into QPR’s First Team. Since then, the 24-year-old has seen himself make 158 appearances and score 26 goals overall. This season alone, Chair has appeared in all fixtures so far, has scored three goals, and assisted three more goals.
Head Coach Danny Schofield will provide full team news at his next press conference on Friday 9 August 2022.
