Danny Schofield is relishing the prospect of Sunday afternoon's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Blackpool at the John Smith's Stadium.

Speaking to the media in his press conference on Friday morning, Danny started by reflecting on Town’s Deadline Day and what the new recruits can bring to his side.

“We had a busy Deadline Day yesterday, and we addressed some really important areas for the team.

“(Michał) Helik has Championship experience and (Luke) Mbete shows a lot of quality when training with Manchester City’s First Team, so they will add real strength in the centre of defence.

“Tyreece (Simpson) is a very exciting player and is going to make a big impact to the squad when he is fully fit, which is looking to be around November – he will be an asset when he’s available.”

Schofield spoke about the effect that these new signings will have on the players already at the Club.

“Hopefully the new arrivals will be a boost for the squad.

“The players already here know the new signings are here to help us win football games, which we are all desperate to do.”

Our Head Coach went on to discuss how the team handle the pressure of needing to get going and find their run of wins.

“In this role, you have to love pressure – if you don’t, this isn’t the role for you.”

“We’re paid to win games, and we know how much it will mean to so many people – so that is our aim for this weekend.

“There’s always pressure in football, we’re going to continue to work really hard over the next couple of days and look forward to Blackpool.”

Danny then looked forward to Sunday afternoon’s game against the Tangerines.

“It will be a big test as they’ve had a good start - they have scored a lot of goals but also conceded a lot.

“They are a very competitive side and stand a very good chance this season under Michael Appleton.”
