B Team Coach Jon Worthington was happy with the win as the group maintained their 100% record in the Premier League Cup this campaign after winning their second group stage game.
Speaking after the victory in Kings Langley, B Team Manager Jon Worthington shared his thoughts with htafc.com.
“I think it was scrappy at times, I don’t think we were as fluid as we can be, but I think when you come away from home in this competition, you’re always going to go up against good opposition.
“I said to the lads today that what was most important was winning the game, so I’m pleased they’ve done that.”
Worthy then praised the team for their hard work and how they played, despite it being the first time a lot of them have played in a competition.
“I think they’re a tight group, they work hard every day.
“The starting XI from predominantly most of the games last season has significantly changed and it’s just the next wave of players coming through.
The togetherness was good to see out there today.”
Town’s B Team Head Coach was happy with the individual performances and the professionalism of the Young Terriers.
“Individually I think there was some good performances, I think it showed their strength and what they can bring to the team.
“Today we could have been better collectively in certain moments focussing on a little bit more detail and quality – but the main thing for me is that we have won the game and I still know we can be better.
“I think the professionalism in the characters shone today, we could have gone under when they equalised, but they weathered it well and came back strong and it’s always nice to score a set piece.”
