HTAFC Women host Stoke City in the Northern Premier League

- Huddersfield Town Women return to league action
- Town Women aim for back-to-back wins
- Fifth vs fourth in the Northern Premier League

Huddersfield Town Women continue their Northern Premier League campaign after their County Cup game last weekend.

Huddersfield Town Women host Stoke City Ladies this weekend.

Coming off the back of a comfortable win in the first round of the County Cup, Town will be aiming for back-to-back wins; with a game in hand over their visitors this weekend, they trail by just two points.

LAST TIME OUT

These two sides met twice last season, with Town coming out on top both times.

When HTAFC Women went to Community Drive the game began as a very cagey affair. It took a brilliant strike from Brittany Sanderson in the 33rd minute to break the deadlock. Chances had been many on both sides, but it was Huddersfield Town Women who managed to capitalise and went into the break ahead.

A controversial penalty in the 77th minute against the run of play saw the hosts level up. HTAFC Women didn’t give up though, and just five minutes later saw Paige Crossman with a looping effort in the wind that ended up in the back of the net.

The last time the sides met at the Stafflex Arena, Town Women again came out on top. Stoke City Ladies managed to score once, whilst the home side netted five times. However, this is a new season, new players and a new coach.

Both sides will be eager to take the points and move up the table. Town Women will leapfrog Stoke City Ladies if they come away with all three points. After both sides lost their respective previous league matches, everyone will be determined to return to winning ways in the league.
