Town to support Restart a Heart on Tuesday 18 October 2022
- Huddersfield Town back 'Restart a Heart' campaign
- Preston North End (Tuesday 18 October) will be dedicated game
- Supporters will be given the chance to learn CPR on match day
Huddersfield Town’s Sky Bet Championship game against Preston North End on Tuesday 18 October will show the Club’s support for the Restart a Heart campaign.
Huddersfield Town is one of Yorkshire’s top 10 football league clubs to support Yorkshire Ambulance Service’s Restart a Heart campaign to help spread awareness of the importance of learning life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Supporters will be given the opportunity to learn CPR from ambulance staff as training and demonstrations will be taking place in front of the Core Stand Lower Tier, next to the Activity Zone ahead of kick-off on Tuesday evening. We encourage all fans to spend just five minutes learning the skills that might just save a life.
A cardiac arrest patient’s chance of survival dramatically increases if CPR can begin the ambulance service arrives on scene.
When someone collapses and stops breathing normally, it is important to quickly call 999, perform CPR and use a defibrillator to give the patient the best chance of survival.
Less than one in 10 people in the UK survive a cardiac arrest, but thousands more lives could be saved if witnesses start CPR immediately.
As part of this year’s campaign, ambulance staff and volunteers will visit 137 of Yorkshire’s secondary schools to teach CPR to more than 30,000 students on Friday 14 October 2022 to mark Restart a Heart.
