Huddersfield Town Women begin their County Cup campaign against Penistone Church on Sunday 16 October.
Huddersfield Town Women are on the road again, starting their campaign in this year’s Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup.
The defending champions travel down to South Yorkshire to visit Penistone Church Ladies first team.
The game will take place at Silkstone Recreation Ground, Barnsley, S75 4LY on Sunday 16 October 2022, 2pm kick-off.
Despite being the 2021/2022 champions, Town Women will start the competition in the first round. Having started the season well, the Women Terriers currently sit fourth in the league table after winning three, drawing two and losing two.
Penistone Church Ladies First Team are new opponents for Huddersfield Town Women, and after losing last weekend in the FA Women’s National League North Premier Division, Town Women will be determined to begin a good cup run.
Having won the County Cup three of the last four occasions, Huddersfield Town Women hope to continue their success in this competition, and with new players and new coaching staff for the start of the season, there will be a renewed desire to retain the Cup. Town Women may go into the match as favourites, but the team will not take anything for granted.
