With an Etienne Camara cross defected home in the first half and a Michał Helik header sealing all three points after the break, it was a first victory for new Head Coach Mark Fotheringham in his first match at the John Smith’s Stadium!

Despite a cagey opening to the game, the Terriers took the lead through an own goal after great work from Etienne Camara out wide, with the young Frenchman’s cross turned into his own net by City captain Lewie Coyle.

After taking the lead, Town were in control for the majority of the remaining play, using the ball nicely and working the ball forward with real intent and frequency.

The game was beyond doubt after Michał Helik bundled home from a Danny Ward cross, with the big Polish international getting his head to the ball from close range for his first goal as a Terrier.

Almost scoring a third late on, it was a fine performance from Town that gives Mark Fotheringham’s men plenty to build on ahead of another crucial Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United coming up.
