Town’s most complete performance of the season so far saw the side rewarded with all three points against Millwall at the John Smith’s Stadium!
Starting the brighter and keeping that energy up throughout the entire game, Town created chances throughout whilst defending brilliantly, allowing Lee Nicholls a welcome quiet afternoon between the sticks.
Going ahead in fortunate circumstances, Town’s pressure told when Yuta Nakayama’s deep cross nestled in the top corner of the Millwall goal, catching the opposition goalkeeper completely off guard.
Not satisfied with one goal, Town pushed forward and had multiple attempts to extend the lead but a combination of the Millwall defence, the post and some profligate finishing didn’t allow the scoreline to give a true reflection of the game.
With the second half following much the same pattern as the first, Town saw the game out with confidence, keeping a good Millwall side at arm’s length and working together to ensure all three points stayed in HD1.
