Town tasted defeated at home for the first time in three games after Greg Cunningham’s second half header was enough to secure all three points for Preston on the night.
Despite starting the game the stronger and going into half-time the better side, Town weren’t able to create enough chances of note to either take the lead or get back on terms once Preston had converted from a set piece.
Following home wins against both Cardiff City and Hull City, the Terriers were looking for their third win and clean sheet at home on the bounce, and could’ve been set on their way in the first half had Danny Ward’s header following a good Ben Jackson delivery been lower.
A disappointing result, Town will have another opportunity to get some much needed points on the board come Saturday 22 October as we travel to the Riverside to face Middlesbrough.
