B Team Coach Jon Worthington was happy with the win as his group maintained their 100% record in the Premier League Cup this campaign after winning their third group stage game against West Brom at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking after the victory at the John Smith’s Stadium, B Team Manager Jon Worthington shared his thoughts with htafc.com.

“I thought it was a great game of football.

“For a neutral fan it was a great spectacle, both teams had some talented players.

“On another day, there could have been maybe six, seven, or eight goals in the game either way.

“West Brom came with a slightly different shape to what they had been playing, so it just took a little bit of adjusting to that with some subtle changes.

“Once we did that, we started to get a foot in the game and had some good moments, and off the back of the first half we had the clearest cut chances.”

Worthy then spoke on the importance of having good decision makers in the team.

“We work all the time on having good decision makers – undoubtedly those are the players that go far in the game.

“The ones who make the best decisions under pressure end up being the best players and I think we have good players who make good decisions and who have got good understanding of the game.”

Town’s B Team Head Coach commented on Loick Ayina’s game and his goal.

“Loick is a really interesting player. He’s very dynamic as a centre half and he can drive and step in with the ball.

“He’s a player we believe in and need to be patient with.”

Jon was happy with this evening’s performance from the youngsters.

“I’m really proud watching the lads, they gave it everything they had and left everything out there on the pitch – I think that’s all you can ask for.”

The B Team is back in action in this competition at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday 25 November, hosting Middlesbrough in a 1pm kick-off!
