- Huddersfield Town Under-19s play on Saturday 5 November 2022
- Noon kick-off in the U18 Professional Development League Cup

Huddersfield Town’s Under-19 side are back on the road on Saturday 5 November, when they travel to Peterborough United in the U18 Professional Development League Cup; noon kick-off.

The Young Terriers will play their final group stage game of their U18 Professional Development League Cup against Peterborough United on Saturday 5 November, noon kick-off, with the game taking place at Idverde Training Academy (Oundle Road, Peterborough, PE2 7EA).

The youngsters will be looking to secure their second win of the competition and jump up the Group B table to qualify for the quarterfinals of the U18 Professional Development League Cup.

To automatically qualify for the quarterfinals, Town’s youngsters have to secure the win against Peterborough United and Bradford City need to win when they host Crewe Alexandra in their Cup fixture – if only Town win, then we go to second and it will be decided after which of the runner-up teams goes into the quarterfinals.

If our Terriers do qualify for the finals, these fixtures will be taking place on Saturday 4 February 2023.

Supporters are welcome to attend free of charge and will be let in the ground 15 minutes before kick-off!

Our U19 and B Team player, Tom Iorpenda, previewed this game:

Tom started by talking about how he has found the season so far, working with both the U19s and the B Team.

“I’m finding the season really good so far.

“We have a good team and we’ve gelled well – we’re a strong team as well and we’re doing quite well in the League and in our Cup matches, so I’m really looking forward to a big game against Peterborough tomorrow.

“The B Team has been a bit of a challenge, playing with older and more experienced players, but I think I have taken on the challenge well and I’m just trying to learn off of the players and the staff of the B Team.”

Our Young Terrier touched on the earlier games in this competition and where that puts them for tomorrow’s fixture.

“The Crewe game earlier this competition, we were very disappointed after the game, in the first half they completely deserved to be in the position they were, which I think was 4-0 up, then in the second half we changed formation and it really helped – we ended up scoring two goals to almost bring it back.

“Then the Bradford City game, we really bounced back, we looked strong, we dominated, and it was good because we beat our rivals as well.

“Tomorrow is a must win game for both of us, so I’m sure they will have a very strong team out.

“I think we just have to go into the game with the mentality that we can win, and I think with the team we have we should be able to.”

Iorpenda touched on the inspiration he takes from the young players who have made their way into the First Team.

“If you work hard here then opportunities will come, Brodie Spencer and Etienne Camara are great examples of this after going through the programme and are now starting for the First Team – I am definitely trying to follow in their footsteps.

“We were training with Brodie last season and now he has just made his Championship debut.”
