HTAFC Women face Loughborough Lightning in their next league fixture

- Town travel to Loughborough for the second time in a week
- 12th plays fourth in the league
- Game gets underway at 2pm

Huddersfield Town Women return to League action against Loughborough Lightning on Sunday 6 November.

Huddersfield Town Women will travel to Loughborough again om Sunday 6 November, in a 2pm kick-off in the FA WPL Premier League North.

After a comfortable first round win the County Cup, the Terriers followed that up with a hard fought win against Stoke City Ladies. The first half was frantic, with Town Women missing chances early on. Stoke City then got ahead poking the ball over the line. However, Huddersfield Town Women struck back quickly, as Britt Sanderson fired home to level the score.

Sanderson soon had her brace after Katie Anderson fed her in and she made no mistake in front of goal. Just after the half hour, Laura Elford had latched onto a ball over the top and tried to break free, however Elford was scythed down and the referee went straight for the back pocket, putting Stoke down to ten players.

Sanderson scored from the free kick, giving Town Women the lead, and Sanderson her hat trick, whipping the ball over the wall and into the bottom left corner. The second half started with a controversial decision when the Women Terriers won a free kick on the edge of the box. Who else but Sanderson took it and dinked the ball over the wall and into the back of the net. Stoke City Ladies protested, but the goal stood.

With 13 minutes to go, the visitors got a goal back. Town Women had to hold on the final few minutes to secure all three points and leapfrog Stoke City Ladies into fourth.

Meanwhile Loughborough Lightning currently sit 12th in the league table. Having played eight games and lost seven, the hosts welcome the Women Terriers for the second time in a week. Following on from the cup tie last Sunday, Huddersfield Town Women once again make the journey to Loughborough to face a very familiar foe.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Who else but Britt Sanderson. Four goals in the last league game the attacker is currently on scoring form. Give the ball to Sanderson and more than likely it will end up in the back of the opponent's net.
