Huddersfield Town defender Luke Mbete said that he was ‘proud of the whole team’ after his side drew 0-0 at home to Sunderland this afternoon.

A draw and a clean sheet at home this afternoon, sees Town go into the World Cup break with four points from two games.

Luke Mbete spoke to HTTV after the game:

“I’m very pleased with the point, but I feel like there were times we could have taken the lead.

“I’m just proud of the whole team and it was a hard-fought point against a good team.

“I think I played as best as I could today, but I also think that better is still to come.

"I’m just taking things step by step, there are still things I need to improve but I’m happy to have gotten minutes in the bag.”

“Nicholls is a top ‘keeper and we have a really good squad with a really good manager, and it just goes to show that the work we’re doing in training is paying off slowly.

“I feel like we have built up a bit of a momentum, the last game against QPR we showed great desire and great hunger, and we deserved the result - I also feel like we worked really hard today.

“Now it’s time to go into the break and enjoy some time with our families and then come back as strong as possible.”
