MARK REVIEWS DEFEAT AT BLACKBURN ROVERS

Head Coach calls for more focus in key moments

Mark Fotheringham was frustrated with the sense of déjà vu that everyone connected with Town felt after today’s 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

As was the case against Sunderland in midweek, Town were right in the game against Rovers – only to come away with nothing again.

“We played really well, but I feel like I’m coming here after the games over the past three weeks and saying the same thing,” Mark told HTTV post-match. “We’ve had two defeats now after winning against Millwall, but I think we have performed ever-so-well in all the games.

“We just have to continue and go into Tuesday’s game with the same positivity, because there’s no time to lose or to feel sorry for ourselves.

“We know what this league is about. We just have to concentrate, focus and be disciplined again on Tuesday.”

Again, the frustration emanated from not taking the opportunities created.

“The guys have got to do everything with more conviction,” Mark detailed.

“If you’re getting the chances, it shows you are playing with confidence and getting in the areas. That’s been the case in the last few games – we’re creating chances, but it’s just the execution.

“For me, it’s a mental thing. The lads have to be focus more on making contact when they’re in the box and do things with more confidence.”
