Huddersfield Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham spoke about his team news and our upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against Blackburn Rovers in his latest press conference.

Asked about recent injuries and team news, Mark updated the press ahead of Saturday Sky Bet Championship game against Blackburn Rovers:

“I’m bitterly disappointed for Yuta, he’s a great boy and has been playing great of late and was really pushing on.

“We will all support him as much as we can, there’s great medical staff here who will help him throughout and when he is back my door will always be open for him if he ever wants to talk – we were all proud of him for going to the World Cup and representing his nation, so that’s a double blow for him.

“Ben Jackson is going to be fine, it was more of an impact injury, and he will be training with us today as planned, so his involvement in the squad tomorrow won’t be effected.”

Our Head Coach reflected on Wednesday evening’s game against Sunderland and praised his team for a positive performance.

“Wednesday was a terrific performance, I think we played out of our skin against Sunderland and it was an unfortunate result – the goals came at harsh times, just after we created our own chances to score.

“We may be bottom the table but the fact that our fans clapped us off the pitch on Wednesday shows that we had a positive performance.

“We’ve got to continue improving and we’ll go again Saturday.”

Fotheringham then highlighted the importance of the younger players and why he has been implementing them into training since he arrived.

“The reason we gave focus to our younger players when I arrived was in case, they were ever required, which they are now we have suffered these injuries.

“I’m so proud pf Brodie Spencer, he plays like a man – if he keeps performing like he did on Wednesday, it’ll be hard to not pick him.”

Looking ahead to Blackburn Rovers, Mark spoke about what he is expecting from the opposition.

“Blackburn have players who can hurt us, but we also have players who can hurt them – which will be our focus.

“We’re going to be focussed and disciplined in everything we’re doing and will be again at the weekend.”
