Huddersfield Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham spoke about the team’s performances and our upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against QPR in his latest press conference.

Asked about the team’s performance at the weekend against Blackburn Rovers, Mark gave his thoughts the press ahead of Tuesday’s Sky Bet Championship game against QPR.

“I think it was a very strong performance after having analysed the game with my team.

“We must look at the facts and we have a horrific injury list and lot of young players stepping – this isn’t an excuse, it’s just the reality of the situation.

“We know that if we were a bad team then we would be going to Blackburn and getting murdered, but that wasn’t the case – in fact, I think we had Blackburn on the ropes.”

Fotheringham discussed the upcoming World Cup break and an updated team news for our fixture against QPR.

“The break is absolutely massive; we have some really creative players and leaders we have been missing.

“I’m missing my capain Hogg and now Lees, which came at a bad time because he was really starting to come into his best form, and we were getting clean sheet – but Boyle was outstanding for us at the weekend.

“We might be even lighter tomorrow, with David Kasumu missing the game due to suspension and Etienne Camara has taken a knock to his hip flexor, so he is also looking like a real doubt.

“We know how we’ll cover without Camara and Kasumu, but in total we’re probably missing nine starters.”

Our Head Coach then looked to our next fixture against QPR, and what he expects from his team.

“We’re going there to be solid, to play our style of football and to win, which is all we ever do.

“My aim is to keep this team in the league; it may be a transitional period, but we still want to win football matches.

“When you get a win or two, and we get some players back, it can suddenly start looking much better.”
