Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán praises the squad’s togetherness ahead of the Play-Off final against Nottingham Forest on Sunday 29 May 2022.

The biggest game of the season, the Terriers travel to Wembley Stadium one game away from a place in the Premier League against Play-Off final opponent Nottingham Forest.

Speaking at his final press conference of the season, Carlos discussed Sunday’s huge fixture.

“Everyone has been working hard and all we want is what’s best for the team, this team will always try from the first minute until the end.

“We’ve had a lot of time to prepare for this game and have been working with the players to create the right habits. It’s a group where the team is the most important thing.

“These types of games have two parts, the special part of the game and the game part.

I’ve been so focused on the game part.”

Carlos discussed Town’s previous fixtures against Forest:

“The first game we played against Forest they were under another coach and played 4-3-3, but they’ve since gone to line of three.

"The most important thing is how we adapt to the different contexts of the game, reduce their strengths, and put our strengths forward."

"When you play a final you want to win the final, and we want to beat Nottingham Forest and achieve something unbelievable."

Corberán also commented on the availability of the squad going into Sunday’s game in the capital.

“I think the positive thing of the team is that every player is ready, It’s not going to be easy for me because some of the players who are not going to be involved are good enough to start the game.”

“Matty Pearson has recovered late in the season and has not played any games so far but I think he has the character to be involved. I am still considering whether he will be involved or not.”

"We have achieved good things in good moments in games that have been complicated for the team. The plus of all these things is that it's created a real mindset for the players to be able to face any context or scenario."
