Carlos Corberán was in high spirits after watching his side end their regular season with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Bristol City, securing a third placed Sky Bet Championship finish.

Discussing the game, Carlos said that Town wanted to have another good performance to achieve a positive result.

“We wanted to achieve the three points and we wanted to make the three points the consequence of a positive performance.

“I was watching the team playing excellently in some minutes of the game, especially in the first half, so when I see the team achieve the highest position to finish third in the table, I’m pleased.”

Opening up about his team selection, the Head Coach admitted that the Terriers used their squad to ensure as many players as possible would be in the best place they could be ahead of the Play-Offs.

“The mentality and the thought behind the selection today was that I wanted to help everyone to be ready for the special and important moment that we are going to play right now.

“More than any type of tactical decision, in terms of the players and the minutes we were thinking about the maximum number of players we can add for this special moment, and to prepare everyone in the best way that we can prepare.”

Asked about the Play-Offs and their opponents, Carlos said that he had to no preference of who to play as every possibility was going to be demanding.

“When you’re going to play a Play-Off game, you don’t have any kind of preference because we know every type of game is going to be demanding.

“Against Luton it’s going to be very demanding. If we were going to be playing against Sheffield United it was going to be very demanding as well, so there is no type of favourite or advantage in the situation.

“The only important thing is that we have finished in the highest position that, from the last week, we could finish, and this is for me an important achievement.

“We have made all the points we wanted to make, because since the last international break we have only lost two points of the 21 that we were playing for, and this is for me fantastic too.”
