Town Women host Doncaster Rovers Belles in County Cup Quarter-Final

- County Cup reaches the quarter final stage
- Terriers host South Yorkshire rivals
- Fans can watch at the Stafflex Arena

Huddersfield Town Women return to Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup action for the first time since 2019 when they welcome Doncaster Rovers Belles in the Quarter-Final on Sunday 20 March 2022.

Town have a good record in the competition, having been Champions in 2017 and 2018, and runners up in 2019. Entering the Cup in the Fourth Round, they reached this season’s Quarter-Finals via forfeit, as Sheffield United Women FC Seconds were unable to take part.

Doncaster Rovers Belles also entered the County Cup in the Fourth Round. Travelling to Sheffield Wednesday Ladies Firsts, the Belles secured their place in the Quarter-Finals with three fine goals.

Town Women will go into the match as favourites, as they play in a higher league than their opponents. However, Doncaster Rovers Belles have only lost one of their last five matches in the WPL Division 1 (Midlands).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Britt Sanderson can be guaranteed to be on the end of a cross or a pass. Sanderson was unlucky to not score against Derby County last time out and will be looking to put that right on Sunday.

New signing Daniela Kosińska will be interesting to watch. The experienced 'keeper signed from Loughborough Lightening and has yet to make her Huddersfield Town Women debut. Kosińska will be eager to get started, and will certainly want to keep a clean sheet.

Georgia Marshall returns to the side after her red card ban. Marshall will be eager to get back in amongst things and do her thing on the pitch.

Assistant Manager Kamran commented:

“This is a fixture that both teams will definitely be relishing.

“We are looking to gather more momentum and progress.

“Players coming back from bans and injuries always helps.

“The culture and mindset from everyone is never to overlook our opponent regardless of leagues and positions.”

“We are looking to showcase the best Huddersfield Town Women we can be come Sunday. It's all about who takes control on the day.

“We are confident that we will come out of this fixture not only with the win, but a convincing performance too.”
