Continuing their development, the Huddersfield Town B Team travel to Lancashire on Tuesday 29 March to face Bolton Wanderers; 2pm kick-off.
Having been beaten by a strong Stoke City side the Premier League Cup at the start of the month, the side will be looking to get back to their best and build on the lessons learned from that defeat when they step out against Bolton.
With some B Team regulars out on loan or training with Carlos Corberán’s First Team during the international break, the match will be used to give an opportunity to some younger players at B Team level.
With players returning from injury – such as central defender Nas Kherbouche, left back Luke Daley and attacker Sam Peplow – it’s also an opportunity for them to get some competitive football under their belt and step up their own rehabilitation, which is another positive for the side.
B Team Coach Jon Worthington explained:
“We’re looking at fundamentals at the moment – focussing on your basics when defending, maintaining the correct levels and concentration out of possession and meeting the expectations on you in those areas.
“It’s a great opportunity for those younger players to experience the standard at B Team level and gain an understanding of the mentality with which we play, train and go into these matches with, as well as being a welcome return for some of the boys who’ve been injured.
“We’ll be looking to see which of the more established B Team players raise their game and become the leaders on the day, to help some of the younger lads stepping up as well.”
