Town are back in Sky Bet Championship action on Wednesday 16 March 2022 when they travel to The Den to take on Millwall; 7:45pm kick-off.

Town will arrive at The Den having drawn their last away game with West Bromwich Albion, while Millwall come into the game following a nil-nil home draw with Middlesbrough.

THE OPPOSITION

Millwall currently occupy 11th place, having picked up 54 points from 36 games.

Managed by Gary Rowett, Millwall are unbeaten in their last five matches in the Sky Bet Championship, winning three of those matches.

Town will be hoping to do the double over Millwall on Wednesday following a 1-0 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium back in October.

ONES TO WATCH

Scott Malone

Following a successful loan spell with Millwall last season, Malone made his move to The Den permanent in the summer. The 2021/22 season would see Malone begin his third stint as a Millwall player. The 30-year-old first left Millwall in 2015 and has played for many different clubs since, including Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town. Malone has become a permanent fixture in the Millwall side, missing only four games for the club this season. Whether he starts as a left midfielder or as a left back, Malone is a constant threat in attacking play down the wing. He has helped himself to six goal contributions this season, which is one of the better returns in the Millwall side.

Murray Wallace

Another familiar face to Town fans is that of defender Murray Wallace. Wallace made over 50 appearances for Town from 2012-2016. Since leaving the club, the Falkirk academy graduate has played over 100 times for Scunthorpe before signing for Millwall in 2018. Wallace has featured in all but four of Millwall’s games this season and with four goal contributions to his name, and is more than useful in both boxes for Gary Rowett’s side. The 29-year-old has played most of his minutes this season as one of the three central defenders in the Millwall team, but he can also play as a left back or – less often - as a left midfielder.

Benik Afobe

Having come through the academy at Arsenal, Afobe has represented numerous different clubs including Huddersfield Town, Wolves and Bournemouth. Afobe joined Town early in his career on loan, scoring 8 times for the club during the 2010-11 season. Since signing for Stoke City in 2019, Afobe has been loaned out three times, including to Millwall. Since arriving at The Den, Afobe has scored seven goals in all competitions. His physical presence up front allows Millwall to play the ball to him and bring others into the game in dangerous positions. Filling in for striker Tom Bradshaw, Afobe is a threat that Town will have to defend well against.
